Wow the beginning of November can get cold. We did Nick's Senior photos the second weekend of November and it was windy and cold but Nick was a good sport and I didn't whine to much. You might remember Nick from the Dumb and Dumber prom photos from the spring.
But now it was time for senior photos and I was looking forward to photographing Nick again because we were going to shoot in a location that he was comfortable in and that mattered to him. When it comes to guys especially in senior pictures they need to be engaged and care about what it going on. If mom drops them off at a studio and tells you to smile its not going to work and nobody including the photographer is going to get what they want.
I like capturing people doing the things they love because I feel the photos will mean so much more to them in the future. Fishing and hunting are Nicks favorite past times so it felt right to capture him in his element and we had a great location to do that.
There was a little goofing around too. My wife and Nick's mom were playing around in the barn and found this guy. I'll admit I was surprised and my first thought was "why is there an ostrich behind Nick?" but quickly I realized what was going on and made sure I captured the funny moment. Nick's mom Sara is fun to be around so she kept things light during the photo session.
We even managed to get in a quick family photo next to the almost falling down barn.
To end the session we ran into Kewanee and I got to play with a little bit of light. I've used this ally before and always love it.
