Hunter's story is the same as many shelter dogs, come to the shelter get adopted then come back. Why did he come back? I'm not real sure most likely the adopter didn't take the time to work with him and make him a real part of the family. Hunter does have a problem with small dogs and that may have contributed to his return to the shelter.
Hunter is about 6 years old and has spent much of his life in the Henry County Humane Society-Kewanee. He is a calm boy who walks great on a leash and seems to get along with everyone (except small dogs please keep this in mind when considering adopting him). Hunter does do well with children and other dogs (not small dogs) and he also gets along with cats. He is very laid back so if your looking for a dog that just likes to hang out Hunter may be right for you.
Hunter has some of the prettiest brown eyes I have seen and yes he's a little overweight but a little walking and good diet will help him get to a better weight easily.
If you are interested in adopting Hunter please contact the Henry County Humane Society in Kewanee IL. 309-883-0469 or 309-852-0040.
Hunter is a shelter favorite but I know they will be happy when he finds his new furever home. Above Hunter is pictured with his biggest fan Anna.
